Free Throw Competition: Lee Walton vs. Shaquille O'Neal
2004—2005

On November 3, 2004, Lee Walton and Shaquille O'Neal began an 82 game free throw competition for the NBA 2004-2005 season.

The rules were simple.

Shaquille O'Neal will always shot first:
During each NBA game, Shaq attempted a certain number of free throws. The total number of free throws was at the discretion of the referees.

Lee Walton will always shot second:
Lee attempted the exact number of free throws granted to Shaq in his latest NBA game.

After each athlete has taken his free throws, the score was tallied and recorded. At the end of 82 games, the athlete with the most free throws made, was the 2005 Free Throw Champion.

Professional sports critic and legendary free throw expert, Dennis Hans was Lee Walton's free throw coach.
