Each 35 pound plate was purchased at Modell's Sporting Goods in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The plates were then walked through Manhattan, over the Queensboro Bridge to the Socrates Sculpture Park. The weights were then stacked adding 1.5 inches to the sculpture.


This sculpture takes the form of a series of approximately fifty 35-pound lifting weights stacked onto a vertical metal pole along the waterfront facing Manhattan. Over several months, Lee periodically picked up a weight at Modells’ Sporting Goods on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and carried it approximately 4.5 miles across the Queensboro Bridge to Socrates Sculpture Park. Over the course of the exhibition, the stack of weights will slowly grow to a height of almost six feet.
