The Telescope Performances
April 29, 2001

(Headlands Center for the Arts, California)

A telescope in a fixed position pointing out the studio window and into the vast mountain surroundings. Connected to the telescope is a headset. With the naked eye, the view from the window is serene and natural.

After putting on the headset, the visitor listens to a live radio broadcast of a San Francisco Giants baseball game. Next, the visitor looks though the telescope and can see the activities and gestures being performed in accordance to the same live radio broadcast. Only one person could view and listen to the performance at a time.

The script of actions were memorized for the performance.
