For Momentary Performances, I used vinyl text on city walls to announce ordinary moments that would take place in the future. These texts were installed throughout the city weeks prior to each performance.Nearly 20 of these public works took place in Minnesota and Atlanta. After acting out the script exactly on schedule, actors casually disappear into the city as if completely unaware of the descriptive text. The public is left to wonder about the reality of the serendipitous occurrence.

"Momentary Performances was able to defy the spectacle associated both with traditional theater and contemporary online social platforms. Walton’s project succeeds at challenging the physical boundaries of performance, while encouraging a viewer to see their environment poetically. [The] ephemeral...content can be the moment in which the viewer’s perception and routine are disrupted." - Burnaway
