DESCRIPTION
Research Methods in Social Practice is an interdisciplinary course designed for undergraduate and graduate students from Music, Theater, Dance, Art and Arts Administration and beyond. This course supports the development of self-directed projects and explores participatory and experiential art within a range contexts and spaces.
This course dives deeply into the history of art as a social and political action. This course intentionally flattens student and teacher hierarchies and draws upon the expertise and experiences of everyone participating in the course. Participants create and lead workshops, walks, scores, dialogue, and more.
The course is also open to the public and students not enrolled in the course. Students not officially enrolled often join the course for entire semesters or single course meetups.
